AN AFTERNOON of celebration including a traditional lion dance marked Chinese New Year for the pupils of Cleve House school in Knowle as part of the school's drive to expose children to different cultures.

Children squealed in delight as the lion pranced around the playground, guided by members of Bristol Shaolin troupe.

The pupils made their own contribution to the display when the school's own Shaolin students showed off their martial arts skills. And nursery pupils put on their own lion parade.

It wasn't all about lions – the dislays also included traditional tiger and snake dances for pupils of the private school in Wells Road on February 14.
