Pupils decide to do something abut the curse of dog mess

PUPILS at two Knowle schools are trying to end the scourge of dog mess on the pavements by encouraging pet owners to behave more responsibly.

PUPILS at two Knowle schools are trying to end the scourge of dog mess on the pavements by encouraging pet owners to behave more responsibly.

The campaign aims to encourage dog owners to clean up after their pets because students frequently step in dog mess near Venturers’ Academy and Merchants’ Academy primary in Withywood.

“Students understand that they should be protected from harm and they know that dog faeces carries germs which could potentially make them very poorly if they come into contact with it,” said the school.

The Anti Dog Poo Campaign is being driven by students who have designed posters which are on display along the railings outside school. Members of the local community, who saw the students putting up posters, congratulated them and agreed that something needs to be done to address the problem.
